Anfang Februar haben drei neue EU-finanzierte Forschungsprojekte begonnen: Sie untersuchen das Spannungsverhältnis zwischen Grundrechtsschutz und Überwachungstechnik. Die Forscher möchten wissen, wie die Bürger auf Überwachungstechnologien reagieren und Vorschläge machen, wie mehr Sicherheit geschaffen werden kann, ohne die bürgerlichen Grundrechte anzutasten.

Q. This oil painting is by an artist called Pelletier. According to family lore, it was given to my grandmother, during the 1920s, as a gift in recognition of some work she did for an organization. The picture is approximately 34 by 48 centimetres (13.5 x 19 inches).
